About this course
1 in 4 people suffer from a mental health problem of some kind in a year and over half of working days in the UK are lost due to work-related stress, depression or anxiety.
Create a more supportive working environment by appointing a Mental Health First Aider by taking part in our 2-day training course.
Taking part in this course will teach them how to spot and improve their knowledge of mental illness and best practices to support themselves and others in the workplace.
It is important to note that the course covers subjects that some people may find distressing, including suicide and self-harm.
By the end of this course, attendees should know and understand the following:
- Recognise those that may be experiencing poor mental health and provide them with first-level support and early intervention
- Encourage a person to identify and access sources of professional help and other supports
- Practise active listening and empathy
- Have a conversation with improved mental health literacy around language and stigma
- Discuss the MHFAider role in depth, including boundaries and confidentiality
- Practise self-care.
