Q. Who is Responsible for Fire Risk Management on my Site?
The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 states that any individual who has some level of control in the premises where they operate should take reasonable steps to reduce the risks associated with fire.
Q. What Additional Responsibilities Does The Fire Safety Act 2021 Place On The “Responsible Person”?
Responsibilities Include:
Ensuring duties imposed within articles 8 to 22 and any regulations within article 24 are complied with.Recording fire risk assessment in full
Ensuring that they do not appoint a person to assist them in making or reviewing a fire risk assessment unless the person is competent
When a ‘responsible person’ ceases this role, the person taking their place must be provided any relevant fire safety information for fire safety record keeping.
