Asbestos Awareness Online Course
About this Course
There are over 5000 Asbestos-related disease deaths per year, despite it being banned in the UK in 1999.
Many buildings constructed before the year 2000 may have asbestos in them, meaning that it’s crucial that anyone who might be exposed – such as carpenters, plumbers, electricians, painters and builders – must have asbestos awareness training.
By the end of this course, attendees should know and understand the following:
- Learn about what the law says about asbestos
- Learn about what you should do if you disturb small and/or large amounts of asbestos
- Understand the steps to take to reduce and remove the risks at work
The Asbestos Awareness Online Course provides you with everything you need to know about the basics of asbestos safety awareness.
This e-Learning training course was designed for workers who may potentially come into contact with asbestos whilst at work. The course informs the user of what asbestos is, where it might be found, and what it’s used for; and why it’s dangerous.
Employers have a legal responsibility to ensure that their staff know where asbestos and related materials are likely to be found, how to avoid the risk of exposure and to provide the necessary PPE to keep the worker safe.
