Control Measures & Safe Working Practices Not in Place
Following a fall from height a manufacturing company has been fined £26k.
The contractor who suffered serious injuries at the time was carrying out maintenance on a Correa machine.
The machine however had an access gantry which was required to be used to access the top. During this time outside the gantry he lost his balance a fell 3.9 meters. The worker suffered a fractured right elbow, two fractured ribs and 2 pelvis fractures.
The Stockport-based manufacturing company pleaded guilty to breaching Section 3 (1) of the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974.
