In short, CHAS is a health and safety accreditation scheme that used throughout the construction industry. It tends to act as a “pre-qualification” during a tender process.
If you’re going to tender some clients will require you have a CHAS accreditation already in place. So, ensuring your ahead of the competition is necessary in this case. It’s particularly important for projects involving the public sector and schools.

There’s three different CHAS accreditation levels to select from.

The process of achieving your CHAs accreditation takes the form of a review of your current health and safety systems. This entails you uploading sufficient evidence through your policies and documents. Once you’ve demonstrated your compliance and meet the required standard, you’ll officially be CHAS accredited.
Although CHAS isn’t legally required if you wish to work within the construction sector it is preferred by clients who may be considering working with you.
